Firms welcome customers through email
Welcome emails sent by companies to new customers have increased, a new report reveals.
Around 70 per cent of businesses now send welcome emails to their customers compared to a year ago when only 66 per cent did, which could indicate an increased online savvy approach by firms, eMarketer reports.
Conducted by the Email Experience Council, respondent firms said that the tool was useful for viral marketing but businesses failed to add links to encourage friends to join the firm or to forward the email on easily.
Director of strategic services at Premiere Global Services Kara Trivunovic commented: "Getting the welcome message to a new subscriber in a timely manner is imperative today."
She added that companies are missing out on the opportunities offered by optimised use of such services.
Marketers are now making it easier for consumers to receive or ignore email lists, a study by Silverpop found.
